And NOW that You Know You are A Child of God...
Stand in faith for what God has done.
“Since the God who made the world and everything in it is Himself Lord of heaven and earth…it is He who gives everything – including life and breath – to everyone…And He did this so that they might seek deity and, by feeling their way towards Him, succeed in finding Him; and indeed He is not far from any of us, since it is in Him that we live, and move, and exist…we are His children.”
Acts 17:24-28 NJB
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things passed away, behold, all things have become new.” II Corinthians 5:17
Remember the Basics:
- Receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is baptizing believers with the baptism with the Holy Spirit today just as Acts chapter 1 talks about. This baptism, with accompanying manifestations of God’s Spirit, is a free gift from God empowering the believer to live the life God has called them to.
- Join a local church. Each one of God’s children is part of the body of Christ. The body of Christ is represented through the churches. In a church you will be baptized. You will find fellowship and encouragement as you grow spiritually. The Holy Spirit will guide you to the church that He wants you to be a part of.
- Daily read and meditate upon God’s Word. Ask the Lord to guide you and give you His understanding each time you read the Bible. Always remember, that the Word of God is food to our spirit, it teaches us His principles and is a blueprint for our lives. God will speak to you through the Bible. He will bring correction and revelation. It is in the Word that you will be strengthened in your faith and spiritual walk.
- Let His light shine through you. Jesus Christ died for you in order for you to live victoriously through having a relationship with Him. As you are daily in the Word, walking in His ways and obeying His commandments, may His light brightly shine through you. May He be Lord over your life and all that He has called you to do.
Let us pray,
Thank you, Father for calling me into your family. Thank you for Jesus, Your Son, who shed His blood so that I can be in relationship with you. Help me to grow through Your Holy Spirit and Your Word. I love you Lord, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
